The Weekend Starts Here
My pal Ben sent me this "Sensational, I think!" (his words) remake of the Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique a few days ago and it's all that I've been listening to. So so good to wake up to in the morning...to jump around to...to clean the apartment to...to cook to...to do everything to!
Anything that's sample-filled would always remind me of The Avalanches. So here's a little mixtape, Sleepy Bedtime Mix For Young Ones, that they made not too long ago. To play after you've busted all your smooth moves + rapster hand actions to the Beastie Boys and their sampled pals.
This is not the sample-fest that was The Avalanches' first album made 12 years ago (I am so hoping the much-anticipated-by-all second one would come soon after this!) but I love the classic tunes, their usual add-ons of movie dialogues and the dirty crackling of the records.
There. Your weekend listening sorted. Enjoy!
