Shiny Little Critters

We saw these cute Heico lamps a few months ago at the MCA shop but having just moved and chucked out/donated/given away things, I wasn't allowed to bring home new "clutter" so the lamps and the grand fun plans I had for them were soon forgotten about.

Until we found this little fella...

...at the markets recently.

He's not a shiny and new hand-finished-in-Germany Heico but he charmed us with his old-school ways. With assurance from the seller that he's still in a good working condition, we temporarily lifted the "clutter embargo" and he came home with us. Tee hee hee.

While I was giving him a good clean (he was covered in decades' worth of soot and dust), I uncovered these details on his pockets...

...a puppy!

And a kitty! Little critters on a little critter! Surprise bonus! Wheeeee!

Now we just have to name him. We're running out of names for things in the house so I'm thinking "Ah Bear", using the lazy Chinese way of naming kids in the good old days. If parents think their baby is chubby like a piglet, they'll call him "Ah Pig", or if it's the firstborn, he/she will be known as "Ah Big"...the second child will be "Ah Two" and so on. It's quite a good system, don't you think? But I'm glad I was born at a time when parents made more effort with the naming of their kids.

Anyway, "Ah Bear" or "Switch". We'll have to decide.

Oh, just saw some Heico lamps in the window of Garden Life near us! Hmmm...does Ah Bear/Switch need a pal?
