After dinner at our all-time favourite Chat Thai last evening, we stumbled upon Sukjai Thai on our walk home. A new Thai place! Decked out all young and funky like Chat Thai. Curious, we stopped to read their menu at the door and I spied these....
...what we call "Butterflies" in Singapore being deep-fried behind the front counter! Sweet Asian-style dough sticks that I love and miss eating.
We eat them as they are back home but the Thais serve it with kaya, another of my favourite thing to eat. That delicious green coconut and pandan spread.Of course we took a serve of six "Butterflies" and a pot of kaya home for dessert. Tee hee hee. They were very good. And we're going to find out if everything else on Sukjai's menu is just as tasty...soon!

It's great to be able to put a name and a face to the person behind the cute decor. He's got a great eye for things.
Ummm...we've actually been back for a proper meal not too long after this quick stop but the food didn't impress so I didn't do a "proper review".
But please don't let me put you off from going. It's not bad. Just not as good as what we're used to getting at our beloved Chat Thai. x
