He lives in the vegetable bin in our fridge. Two weeks ago, he surprised me by sprouting that extra bit - it poked its way out of the cling-wrap! Today, that bit is at least 10cm tall.
You would think that a fortnight is too long to keep a cabbage but Craig is still in top edible form. I'm not going to eat him, though. I want to see how much more his new limb will grow. Fascinating!

And I thought that was Rhubarb you were growing!
Goodness! Craig reminds me of the plant in the Little Shop of Horrors
Hello Choclette,
Thank you for stopping by!
Haha. I love rhubarb but I don't know how they are grown. x
Missie Carpie,
You get to meet him later. Tee hee hee. xx
Hah! That's kindda cool, getting a present from a cabbage. Sure makes one smile thinking about it. I'm curious to know how the liddle tree will progress...if you put it into soil just before it uses all the cabbagy nutrients, i wonder what you'll end up with and if that would even work. hmm...
He's beautiful!
This reminds me of the time that I opened the cupboard under the sink and a tentacle like thing sprung out at me. I investigated to find that their were several 'tentacles' and that they were wrapped around bottles of vinegar and various jars. Finally way at the back I found a forgotten bag of potatoes. The spuds had shriveled up into tiny pruney things but there was a jungle of sprouts.
Plants are truly amazing.
Hey Room To Think,
Haha! A surprise pressie!
We've given away all our gardening stuff, soil included, after various failed attempts at growing things.
I think I'll leave Craig where he is and see how he does. x
Hey Doll!
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Potato pals! They do love dark places.
Plants are amazing. They will find a way to grow. So resilient (except for those that we tried to grow. Haha). x
tell me about it. i am so bad with plants that some years ago, when at IKEA, i was totally amazed by a purple cactus way at the back of the shelf in the gardeny section.
i was so pleased and felt so special cos he was the only one. i took him home and made him cosy in a nice pot and put the pot in a happy, bright coloured mug and cared for him.
but then he went mushy after only a week and i discovered he was purple because he was already starting to rot. and there i was thinking i had a really special one. it was such a lovely consistent purple and he was shaped really nicely and everything. who would have known. sigh...
Sorry to hear about the cactus.
