He Was There Way Before Agyness Deyn

We have a huge window at work that overlooks a bus stop. Everyday, without fail, various cute old folks would turn up to catch their buses at very specific times. If you are a vintage fashion lover, you would, like me, want to rip the clothes off some these oldies-but-goldies' backs. But it's not about the year-of-origin of the clothes, it's how they wear them so well, so thoughfully put together, a new look every single day.

I've been wanting to document their style for ages but it would seem so inappropriate in the eyes of the boss and co-workers to drop whatever I'm working on, run out of the building to accost some old dear for a photo and details of their wardrobe.

But when I saw Mr Silver Fox (he's not one of the regulars) and his hairstyle today, two days after I wrote about Ms Deyn's new 'do, I knew I had to do a sneaky-style-ee shot, through the window.

The short blunt fringe, the sharp Mr Spock side(burn)s, the slightly layered bowl shape and that silver that you'll never be able to get out of a bottle! He's the man, man.

Nah, sweet old Mr Silver Fox would most probably just laugh it off.
"Who's this cheeky Sheila (Australian slang for "female")?" I can hear him say.

Only if you show up dressed like a 79-year-old despot. Oh, and knock on the window. x

There are more rocking old dudes and dudettes - Mr European Joe (my favourite), Mr Buena Vista, Mrs Throw-Mama-Off-The-Train, Madame A-Hat-A-Day...

Mrs M,
I'd love to see you turn up there in that pink number that you wore to your birthday. You know that one with the butterfly sleeves? x
